Wattle Range Council required a sensor activated, solar powered illumination solution for a 415m pathway connecting Williams Road to the Domain Playground. The client specified the importance of long battery capacity and battery life expectancy to ensure operation during winter months with low sunlight.
Solution
The GFS-STEALTH Solar pathway light is designed to be extremely reliable by incorporating a highly efficiency, military grade N-mono solar panel, high efficacy CREE LEDs and a LiFePO4 battery with 10 year battery warranty (7.5 plus pro-rata). These high end components ensure reliability, even through winter months and in poor solar charging environments.
By operating dual LED banks (one bank operates continuously, the other is PIR sensor activated), the STEALTH solar light ensures continuous lighting, while only activating full power illumination when someone walks along the pathway, providing the additional light required for pedestrians without unnecessary light pollution until 30 seconds after movement is no longer detected.
