photovoltaic (PV) system

Home / glossary / photovoltaic (PV) system

Photovoltaic (PV) system is a system that converts sunlight into electricity. It consists of PV modules, an inverter, and a mounting system. PV modules are made of semiconductor materials that convert sunlight into direct current (DC) electricity. The inverter converts DC electricity into alternating current (AC) electricity, which can be used to power appliances and lights. The mounting system keeps the PV modules in place.
