Renewable Energy Target (RET):The Renewable Energy Target (RET) is a policy mechanism designed to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases in Australia by encouraging the use of renewable energy sources. The RET was introduced in 2009 and amended in 2015. It requires that 33,000 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of electricity be generated from renewable sources by 2020.
