Solar Park Lighting – Roper Gulf Council
The years of development in Australia has resulted in a world class solar light kit that can be installed without the need of an electrician or anyone with electrical experience.
These lights are going in some pretty extreme environments in the Top End of NT in Arnhem Land which tests the units for the most extremes in climate. Our units have been tested over many years in these environments so Green Frog Systems and the Councils in the Northern Territory are confident in the lights ability to handle these environments. Currently installed in Mataranka, Beswick, Eva valley, Bulman, Jilkminggan, Numbulwar, Barunga Weemol and Ngukurr communties

Even the most mechanically and spatially aware can be challenged by putting together “flat packs”. Tears and harsh words are often heard during the assembly process but not at the Roper Gulf Regional Council Depot in Emungalan Road. The Works Crew has been asked to assemble and erect 30 new state of the art solar street lights straight from the box. The crews did a test run at the depot recently and were able to easily put together the lighting rig and wire the solar panel and battery pack. “No problem, it is all really very straight forward. Once we set up the concrete base at its location we just bolt it in. As they are 12 volt LED lights they do not require an electrician and it all slots together”, said Tony Berto Manger of Technical Services. The thirty new solar lights, designed in Australia, will be placed in most Roper Gulf Regional Towns. Khalid Aly the Roper Gulf Regional Council Project Manager is very enthusiastic about the lights, “Being able to put them together ourselves is a cost saving in itself making them much cheaper than standard street lights. They are very low maintenance and will give substantial cost savings over standard street lighting. Improved public lighting improves the safety and security of our towns and encourages use of public spaces” he said.
