Background

The Department of Transport constructed a purpose-built alternative transport option to access Optus Stadium and Perth’s Optus Stadium and iconic Swan River. Maritime Constructions won the contract and fabricated three 32-metre steel pontoons for the jetty, the pontoons were then positioned to create the 96 metre-long purpose-built jetty to the west of Optus Stadium and slightly north of Matagarup Bridge.

Solution

Green Frog Systems specified the supply of 12 x Stealth solar pathway lights for the development of the jetty. With solar lighting being an ideal choice for this application as it was capable of meeting the lighting requirements for marine applications, including high salt and corrosion resistance with all night operation. The Stealth lights are mounted on 6m mid-hinge poles allowing for easier access and maintenance if required. The Jetty and connected walkways had engineered light modelling performed on the site to ensure compliance with the Australian P8 lighting standard.
