Background

The Northern Territory Government has embarked on an upgrade program for the cities network of bus shelters. The Government was looking for a solar lighting option which was required to meet some strict performance criteria whilst still offering the highest level of vandal resistance possible. After evaluating the market the NT Government chose to standardise the GFS-50-MSL Solar Shelter Light as the preselected unit for deployment across the entire Darwin City.

Solution

The GFS-50- MSL Modular Shelter Light provides a robust yet sleek and attractive unit with a split system design featuring a sealed light module and separate solar panel. Constructed from 4mm folded 316 stainless steel the unit is exceptionally durable and capable of withstanding heavy impacts from rocks as well as being highly fire resistant. The separate roof top mounted solar panel features a slim line edge-less design and is particularly unobtrusive. The stainless steel backed solar panel offers high efficiency solar yield with the added advantage of modular design meaning another panel can be integrated into the configuration for partly shaded applications.
